As I already mentioned above, several of the other apps on the market several years ago was lacking in the food library especially when it came to eating out. After downloading MyFitnessPal, I was quickly amazed with the food selections and was able to find the amount of calories for just about anything that I ate. If there wasn’t a restaurant available, I was still able to find something comparable at another restaurant so that I could at least have an idea of the calories that I was consuming.
They even have a barcode scanner that makes adding foods quick and easy using the barcode scanner on your smartphone. Plus, if you tend to make the same thing frequently, you can even save your meals to your favorite list so that you can easily add it to your daily journal.
Set Goals to Help you Lose Weight
The app can help you set realistic goals based on your current weight and help you determine the amount of calories that you need in order to reach your goal weight. Remember when you are setting your goal weight that do your best to stick to losing 1-2lbs a week. Losing weight to quickly isn’t healthy.
