It has been a hot, dry summer here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Temperatures have been over 100 and one afternoon temperatures peaked out at 112. I can’t remember the last time that we had a good soaking rain either. We are supposed to have a cold front this week and the cooler temperatures make spending time at outside a bit more bearable. When it is super hot outside, we tend to hibernate inside of the house or spend time at the pool so that we can cool off.

My kids have been begging me to buy some popsicle molds so that we could make homemade popsicles. While at Walmart last week, when I was picking up some groceries, I decided to get some popsicle molds and that is when I got the brilliant idea to try making some homemade popsicles similar to the ones that I shared a few weeks ago on the blog.

I decided to make several different types of homemade yogurt popsicles using Oikos® Traditional Greek Yogurt recipes like Key Lime Pie, Strawberry, Banana Cream, and other great flavors. I always have yogurt available in the refrigerator because they help satisfy my sweet tooth without consuming several hundred calories on a bowl of ice cream. Each tub of Oikos® Traditional Greek Yogurt (5.3 oz. serving) has 150 calories and 11 g of high-quality protein.  You can find your favorite Oikos® Yogurt in the Dairy section at your local Walmart.

I will apologize for the lack of photos for each process step by step. Our kitchen has the worst lighting possible and it makes it very difficult to share the entire process. We hope that you love these healthy cream pie yogurt popsicles.

Strawberry Cream Pie Popsicles

The Best Healthy Cream Pie Yogurt Popsicles

These delicious strawberry cream pie popsicles are super easy to make and they taste just like the Strawberry Cream Pie Shake that Sonic had about 10 years ago. But, these are even better because they are a fraction of the calories and they won’t make you feel bloated like you do after drinking a huge, unhealthy shake.

Ingredients for roughly 6 to 7 servings depending on popsicle molds:

Directions:

  1. Use a food processor to make vanilla wafer crumbs and set aside.
  2. Use a 2 cup bullet blender or blender to blend all of your ingredients.
  3. Add 2 containers of Oikos® Strawberry Yogurt.
  4. Then add 2 tablespoons of low-fat milk.
  5. Optional, add whipped cream to give popsicles a creamy flavor. Use as much or as little as you want.
  6. This step is optional but it would add more flavor. Mix in a handful of fresh or frozen strawberries without adding sugar.
  7. Blend until mixture is combine thoroughly.
  8. Add 3 – 4  tablespoons of Vanilla Wafer crumbs and stir it into the mixture.
  9. Spoon mixture into popsicle molds and top with vanilla wafer crumbs.
  10. Freeze popsicles and enjoy!

Both of these recipes are super delicious and they taste like you are eating a decadent dessert. I love that these popsicles are a healthy treat that I can feel good about giving my kids on a hot summer day. You can even eat these and not worry about blowing your diet either. Create your own cream pie shake popsicles using Oikos® Traditional Greek Yogurt flavors and let me know in the comments if you found other healthy cream pie yogurt popsicle flavors.

The popsicle molds that I used make 2-ounce ice pops. Each recipe above made roughly 7 servings, leaving a bit of extra mixture. Looking for more healthy popsicle ideas, here is a list of more ideas.
