Walk to End Alzheimer's 2015 Schedule

The Walk to End Alzheimers is very near and dear to my heart because my mom had a rare form of this awful disease called Pick’s Disease. It is a form of Alzheimer’s that attacks the frontal lobe. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the largest event that was created to help raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. The walk is held annually in over 600 communities world wide. This event is open to people of all ages and fitness levels. There is no entry to fee in order to walk but participates are encouraged to get other’s to pledge money in order to raise funds that help with the care and research needed to fight this awful disease.

By participating in this event, you are raising awareness and helping raise funds for the cause. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia which is a general term for memory loss and other intellectual abilities that affect daily life. There is currently no cure for the disease but early treatment of the symptoms is critical for the person’s overall health. Early treatment can slow the symptoms even though it won’t stop the progression of the disease. It also help improve the overall quality of the person’s life.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s  Mission

They want to help eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. If you or a loved one knows of someone struggling with Alzheirmers, please reach out to the Alzheimer.org. They can offer caregiver support and resources needed to help with patient care.
